In case you don't already know us, we are Tim and Lisa Spooner and we got engaged with very little money to throw at a wedding. Refusing to give up on our wedding dreams, we pushed our own creativity to the limits. We arrived at a system that can make any financially strapped couple’s wedding dreams come true.

All told – we are talking about every aspect of the wedding from the engagement ring to the honeymoon – we personally paid less than $2,000 and anyone else contributing to the wedding (such as bridesmaid dresses) paid much less than that.
Our Dream Wedding
When we got engaged, Tim had just graduated from university and Lisa was just getting started on her university degree. We naturally had very little in savings and did not want to rack up a debt on our wedding while we already had a growing school loan debt that we would have to start repaying soon. Getting our wedding paid for by our parents was not an option since their finances were also tight.
We made the decision that we would only spend on our wedding what we could realistically afford. We decided that we could comfortably spend just $2,000.
The trouble was that we really did not want to give up on our once in a lifetime chance to have our dream wedding.
We wanted a church ceremony focusing on our love and life-long commitment. Lisa wanted to have her two sisters and two friends in her wedding party and Tim wanted to have his brother and three friends in his wedding party. We of course wanted the girls to be in beautiful, matching bridesmaid dresses and the guys to be in matching tuxes.
Really, we wanted "THE WORKS": Beautiful wedding dress, periwinkle bridesmaid dresses, tuxes, bouquets, boutonnieres, corsages, live piano music, photographer, videographer, classy reception with dancing and fine dining, three-tiered wedding cake, wedding rings, honeymoon - you know, everything that a wedding should be.
We weren't sure if it would be possible to have all of this for just $2,000. We knew that weddings could be very expensive. What we didn't know at the time was that usually a nice wedding like we wanted normally would cost over $24,000 in our community (PLUS the cost of rings, videographer, and honeymoon).

In fact, for less than $2,000 our wedding was even better than we had ever dreamed possible. We had everything we wanted and more.
